A lot of homeowners ask us about adding a Level 2 charger at home. The appeal is obvious - faster charging overnight, no more relying on public stations, and the convenience of starting every morning with a full battery. But the install itself has to be done right. Sloppy wiring or a hacked-together setup is not something you want on a high-draw circuit like this.

Here's what we were working with on this one. The charger needed to be mounted on an exterior wood structure - a covered deck area with stairs, open framing overhead, and a brick wall nearby. Not a simple wall mount in a garage. Getting the conduit from the source to the charger meant routing it through some tight spots and making sure every transition was clean and secure along the way.

We ran the conduit exposed along the underside of the deck framing, following the natural lines of the structure as closely as possible. Where the run needed to change direction - coming down from overhead framing and then dropping along the stair stringer - we bent the conduit to match. Every bracket is set, every section is supported. It's a longer route than a simple garage install, but it's the right way to do it when you're working with an open structure like this.

The end result is a ChargePoint Level 2 charger mounted at the structure with the cable neatly coiled and ready to use. It looks intentional. That matters - especially on a nice outdoor space where a mess of exposed wiring would stand out badly. The weatherproof junction box is properly positioned where the conduit transitions near the post, keeping moisture out of the connections.

If you've got an EV and you're still relying on a standard outlet or public chargers, a dedicated Level 2 install is one of the most practical upgrades you can add to your home. We handle the whole thing - circuit, conduit, charger - and we make sure it looks as good as it works.
