A lot of EV owners at townhouses or multi-unit buildings run into the same problem - there's no outlet anywhere near where they park. So they end up dragging an extension cord across the roof or down the side of the building. It works, but it's a fire hazard and a tripping hazard, and it's not something you want to leave in place long-term.

That's exactly what we were dealing with here. This townhouse owner needed a real solution - not a workaround. We tapped into an existing power source and ran conduit up the exterior wall and across the roof to get power exactly where it was needed. The conduit is fastened down clean and secure using roof standoff brackets, keeping everything low-profile and stable even in bad weather.

The outlet itself is a weather-resistant GFCI receptacle housed in a covered in-use box - meaning it stays protected from rain whether something is plugged in or not. That's a code requirement for outdoor outlets, and it's also just the right way to do it. The GFCI protection is critical for outdoor use, and it ties into our electrical grounding work to make sure the whole circuit is safe from the ground up.

Inside the junction box, you can see the connections are clean and organized - hot, neutral, and ground all properly landed with red wire nuts securing everything. Nothing sloppy, nothing crammed. That's how outdoor electrical work should look, especially in a spot that's going to see moisture and temperature swings year-round.

The end result is a dedicated outdoor outlet that's safe, code-compliant, and built to last. No more extension cords. No more jury-rigged setups. Just power right where you actually need it.
